What to do

To make this project work with people with variable energy, there are two main roles you can play – as an active member (or actor) and as a supportive member (or understudy). Both are vital to the success of the scheme.

Briefly, an active member would focus on one of the tasks listed below – or any others they think useful. A supportive member follows their work.

The benefits of this are threefold: 1)  giving feedback/confidence, 2) being able to fill in if the actor needs a break (without exhausting explanations), and 3) being able to play a vital role with low energy.

See Cooperating with Different Energy Levels for more details).

Hopefully, this will be a way of reducing stress and energy depletion all round.

Remember it’s important that, however motivated, we only give energy we can afford.

  1. Good morning to you,
I was in touch with Jess over a month ago now, but been quite due to a few health problems & chronic fatigue. I would love the opportunity to help with this wonderful project, I feel I could promote your website or anything else that would be of value behind a screen.

Please contact me if I can be of any help to you.

Energy & healing sent to you all

      Hi Walking Trees,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve not been so good healthwise – and to take so long to get back to you – the website had stopped alerting us to comments for some reason so I missed yours.

We’d be very pleased to have support from ‘behind a screen’ ! We don’t really want to promote the website but we have many other organisational things to do with computers. If you give us your email address – either here or via our email resilientcohousing@gmail.com, we’ll send you our next newsletter and questionnaire.
I love your walking with trees website.

Also just trying to remember when we spoke – did you have a name other than Walking Trees?
We do so need help with techy stuff, it’s certainly not our strong point!

So I do hope you’re still interested.

  2. I am originally an Occupational Therapist. Had a workplace accident. Retrained in ergonomics and vocational rehab getting people with disabilities back to work. Alongside that I have worked for many years helping others with mental health, physical health including fatigue or pain management. I am trained in eco or nature therapy and using the power of nature to help wellness as well as biophyllic and environmental design. I am trained in reiki and use “energy” on various levels. I have my own chronic pain (hence fatigue) symptoms however day by day manage functioning at a high level. I am an artist and planning my first book about nature and our sense of wholeness plus nature connection. I am interested in knowing more and supporting you. Currently looking to rent in south west. Would prefer it not to be in Wales as I have work in south west or surrey. Although I travel elsewhere too. I suggest funding from the “disability” angle would get you the best result. I am also happy to share with my extensive networks to get this off the ground.

Hi Maria, lovely to hear from you. You sound like you will fit in very well with our group as it’s forming at the moment. And you’re various experiences sound very relevant and useful.

We’ve had a really heart warming response, with an inspiring range of like-minded people. I’m having to pace myself quite carefully after replying to so many interesting people – and have a busy few days ahead but, if you send me your email (at resilientcohousing@gmail.com), I’ll reply in more detail after the weekend.

I’ll look forward to hearing more about you

      All good wishes
      Jess

  3. Very interesting. I’m actively involved in other tiny house initiatives and a regenerative farm and have, for a while now, a similar vision around an idea of offering geodesic/circular/dome in a beautiful, natural setting near water and woodlands including other biophilic structures that actually enhance human health and prevent dis-ease rather than deplete it… and feel that this could potentially be a project for a research bid and could be a sanctuary for people who are in spiritual emergency/emergence as well as those with fluctuating energy levels (which I believe is intimately related to unmet trauma)…
Prevention, in Public Health, has long been the elephant in the room. I’ve worked in that realm and in health and wellbeing and I’m now a shamanic psychotherapist and energy worker who stepped out of the system and now ruffling feathers from outside! Can you put me on your contact list? I’d be interested in talking more. Blessings.

Hello, i was interested to read your post. I am in my 14th year of barely surviving with ME in the NW UK.
I live alone with no social structures; f&f or social and or medical care/ support. I get PEM from pacing thr my existential daily needs.
I recently approached Action for ME and MEA for signposting future caremodel organisations as a way to enquire about building new social structures for ppl with ME. All existing advise organisations, lets face it, there is no medical treatment available, plug into existing social structures, spouses, family, employers, schools etc of ppl with ME, but not the most vulnerable of us, the ones who live and are alone.

I also looked at community care models like L’Arche, Shared Lives plus etc.

I believe we need a proper service design consultation to formulate a considered, representative design brief for a
assisted, serviced co- housing model with a multi disciplinary team to support the set up in a best matchup of client quality of life needs and interest with staff resource and expertise.

Purchasing a property and just moving in is unfortunately not for me anymore.
I am happy to get involved with what you are thinking.
